Fearsome Fudge

Fearsome Fudge

The team headed out west as they hit the road for the 2nd annual FLAWGS winter getaway. The accommodation was an amazing Airbnb only a few blocks from the beach … not that anyone had any desire to go swimming. This weekend everyone was solely focused on one thing … winning! And, i mean, it was in the middle of winter.

By the time everyone arrived on Friday night, it looked like the weekend might have been a bit of a fizzer. It was cold, wet, and miserable and both Fudge and Spicy were looking a little under the weather.  Looking back, it’s clear that Fudge performed a tactical masterclass as she managed to fool her fellow FLAWGS into thinking she wasn’t a threat … fast forward 24-hours she was as fit as a fiddle and dominated from start to finish. Devious, possibly … Unethical, most likely … Effective … most definitely. There were plenty of people unhappy with themselves for being fooled by her tactics, so don’t be surprised to see people keeping a closer eye on her next time.

Lamy performed admirably … and was also ethical (something Fudge might be able to learn from) as she placed 2nd for the weekend. It was Clecken’s birthday on Sunday and he managed to get an early birthday present by sneaking into third place and securing an important point.

With Fudge and Spicy claiming first spot in the first two events of 2019 it looks like they will be the ones to beat for this year’s top prize. Fudge’s first place in Torquay means she moves into tied first with Spicy, but there are plenty of points up for grabs this season, so everyone is still in with a chance.
